Laboratory of Technology of Novel Functional Materials

Tomasz Jaron, currently a PhD Student at the Faculty of Chemistry UW, won prof. Rychlewski prize for the best MSc thesis in quantum chemistry. His thesis: “Theoretical Calculations of the Electronic Band Structures for Two Novel Families of Potential Superconductors – Fluorides of Ag(II) and Hydrides of Yb(II), Tm(II), Yb(III) and Si (IV)” was written under DSc Wojciech Grochala supervision. The laureate received this prestigious award during the 50th Anniversary Polish Chemical Society and Polish Association of Chemical Engineers Congress.

Przemek Malinowski received the prize for the best poster presented during the European Materials Research Society Fall Meeting organized in Warsaw, September 17-21.
